Broken Heart Lavender Farms was founded in 2023 by Lisa and Gary Burnthorne. What began as 27 acres of bare land has grown into a beautiful lavender farm, thoughtfully cultivated with care, dedication, and a passion for sharing the beauty of lavender. Today, the farm features three distinct varieties of lavender, each selected for its unique characteristics and purpose.
The lower field is planted with Lavandula × intermedia 'Grosso', known for its rich aroma and versatility in culinary and aromatic products. The hillside is home to Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote', celebrated for its striking deep purple blooms and exceptional fragrance. The upper field features Lavandula angustifolia 'Melissa', a beautiful variety that produces elegant bundles and serves as the foundation for many handcrafted lavender products.
